Hi all,
I am having trouble uploading both autocad 2010 &2011. I cant see what the problem is because i already have the educational version installed along with Revit and 3dsMax. I have a 4Gb sony viao so i have plenty space on my computer even if I uninstall any of them. Is there anyone that can shed a little light on this as it is impossible for me to do drawings for anyone as it stands because of the "PRODUCED BY AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT" stamped on the side

A couple of questions.
What do you mean you are trying to upload Autocad 2010 and 2011? Did you mean to say you are trying to download the programs? Exactly what happens when you try to do this? Do you get any error messages? What do you mean you have a 4GB sony viao? 4GB of what? RAM? RAM has nothing to do with storage capacity. What is the storage capacity of your hard drive, and how much free space do you have available? You said you have the educational version installed, correct? What version is that? You could have just upgraded your student license to a full commercial license, at a reduced cost, by simply contacting Autodesk and letting them know that this is what you want to do. You didn't need to purchase more software at full price. Edited by Cad64 - 12.Mar.2011 at 17:36 |

Sorry, ya its 4 gig RAM and there is 217Gb free on my hard drive. My brother bought the 2010 version in a shop but never used it, so when i downloaded it the autocad screen came up to Install Products, Install Tools and Utilities etc. But when I click to Install Products the error comes up that I cannot install this on the current operating system. the cirrent system is the 2011 educational product.
Thanks

What operating system are you on? XP? Vista? Windows 7?
Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? Is your Autocad software 32 bit or 64 bit? Most installation disks provide both 32 and 64 bit installers, but it is possible that you may have a disk that is only 32 bit or only 64 bit. If that's the case then your software may not be compatible with your operating system. |

To upgrade your license from educational to commercial, you get a 15% discount or something like that, so yes, it's still expensive. Just not as expensive as buying the full version outright.
You might want to try this: http://www.longbowsoftware.com/. It's a converter that allows you to install 32 bit Autocad on 64 bit operating systems. I haven't tried it so I can't vouch for it, but it's worth a shot. |

You already said you had Win7 64-bit.
To run your 32-bit software you should have gotten either Pro or Ultimate. |
