Showcase 2012 - engine

It can be difficult to explain to someone what Autodesk Showcase is, and why they should give it a try especially since it is in many of the new Autodesk 2012 Product Suites. It is actually easier to use or demo than explain it, I am serious. How I usually describe  Autodesk Showcase is to say Autodesk Showcase is for simple drop dead simple and stunning 3D visualization without having to perform a great deal of staging and setup. With showcase you can show a concept real-time during a design review meeting or presentation. It is really different in purpose than 3ds Max and Maya which are for those wanting to much more in animation and effects as well as all the intricate settings. You can easily import a 3D object, set it in a pre-configured scene, add some materials, and have a real-time visualization in a few minutes.

Showcase is not just for the big car design studios or industrial design firms that use it today, but it is also for the architects. If you tried the Autodesk Labs Project Newport to create a real-time architectural walk through, this Technology Preview has graduated and is now included within Autodesk Showcase.

In a nutshell Autodesk Showcase helps you easily create compelling imagery, animations, and real-time presentations. It's quick and easy to learn, designed and built for AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit users. It’s available in our Design Suites and you can learn more and see samples of customers’ work on the new Showcase Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Autodesk.Showcase as well as the product page at http://www.autodesk.com./showcase.

Cheers,
Shaan
