Happy Cinco de Mayo.

Project Galileo is our conceptual design technology preview for infrastructure modeling. You can learn more about it on Autodesk Labs:

Project Galileo

With Project Galileo you add digital assets (buildings, roads, bridges, etc.) to a landscape to construct a full-fledged city model. In addition to information about the technology itself, the Labs site has a gallery of what some Autodesk Labs community members have done with Project Galileo. The latest images come from Peab.

Peab is one of the Nordic countries' leading companies in the field of Construction and Civil Engineering. Group net sales is about SEK 38 billion with ~14,000 employees. Peab was set up in 1959 (the year I was born) by two brothers, Erik and Mats Paulsson, who were then aged 16 and 14 respectively. They began by helping farmers on the Bjäre peninsula with refuse collection and disposal. They also took over Lennart Axelsson’s machine depot and a variety of different jobs began to come their way. Quite soon they had to take on more people, and caterpillars and trucks were added to the plant they already had. In 1967, the company’s first office was built, in Förslöv, and the rest is history.source: www.peab.com

So check out the galley and Project Galileo. In the words of Technical Marketing Manager, Lynda Sharkey, “I promise you, you are going to love it.” Even if you do not download and experience Project Galileo, please let us know what you think of the images in the gallery at labs.galileo@autodesk.com.

Celebrating what a user has accomplished with a technology preview is alive in the lab.
