My Autodesk career started out working on HOOPS - a generic platform independent graphics system. This eventually lead to working on HEIDI (HOOPS Extensible Immediate Drawing Interface) - a graphics systrem that was tailored to Autodesk products. That lead to working on WHIP! - a browser plug-in (based on HEIDI) that allowed viewing of DWF files. When Autodesk wanted our team to add DWG viewing, Volo View was born. Once Volo View was in place, we turned our attention to collaboration and worked on what we now know as Buzzsaw (although it was called ProjectPoint when we were part of Buzzsaw.com - the internet startup company). My point is that I have a long history of working with design files and collaboration. So I am happy to announce that we have a new collaboration solution we would like you to try. It's called Project Nitrous.
Per our usual Autodesk Labs strategy, we would like your feedback on Project Nitrous at our GetSatisfaction forum. Make no mistake about it - Project Nitrous is not a replacement for Buzzsaw. Project Nitrous is more about individual or small team collaboration instead of the enterprise project-centric approach afforded by Buzzsaw. Simple collaboration is alive in the lab.
