Hovenweep
Watch

Technical Evangelist, Shaan Hurley, wants to be the next Les Stroud or Bear Grylls. He's always out and about. As he's not afraid of dirt, often he is among archeological ruins. Project Photofly is a great way to capture these ruins without disturbing them.

Using only a digital camera and the Project Photofly web service, Shaan is able to leverage the Autodesk Cloud to create 3D models of historic sites. As a convenience mechanism, Project Photofly will also generate a video and post it to YouTube. In Shaan's case, he has been generating the videos, and I have been adding them to the Autodesk Channel. Some of you complained that the videos were silent. So Shaan was gracious enough to add the standard Autodesk music which we have rights to use. I learned the hard way that if you use YouTube's audio swap capability to apply public domain music to your video, YouTube then has the right to run advertisements over your video. We don't want that. So please enjoy this updated video of the Hovenweep Castle. I call it the Dance Version.

Dirty dancing is alive in the lab.
