Autodesk Reality Capture Article on Project PhotoflyI received my October 2011 copy of Wired Magazine and to my delight both Autodesk Labs Project Photofly and the Autodesk Gallery were in this issue. On page 68 there is a full page story on Autodesk on Reality Capture covering the free technology preview Project Photofly. Project Photofly converts photos taken with your digital camera to 3D models. The article features images of the 3D model of Wired Magazine Editor in Chief Chris Anderson’s head.

1000001085As a double bonus near the end of there magazine around page 142 there is a 3 page fold out “The Wired Traveler Optimizer Visit” for “Hot Spots Geeky Destinations” and Autodesk Gallery and the dinosaur constructed of Legos is shown on the far left side.

The Autodesk Gallery
San Francisco California

If you’re in the Bay Area on a Wednesday, head to the Autodesk Gallery at One Market Street to see the best work done by customers of the design software firm. We’re partial to the 62,500-piece dinosaur built by Lego.

Come visit the Autodesk Gallery and the Lego dinosaur as well as many other great exhibits every Wednesday from 12-5 pm when it is open for tours to the public.

You can even get a 3D model of your head using our Project Photofly Photo Booth that fires ~18 DLSR cameras all at once to capture your image and then processes them automatically using the cloud and then emails you a link to your file.

This Project Photofly Photo Booth is quite amazing and even has a hacked Microsoft Kinect to instruct the person to place their face in the right location and then when aligned fires all the cameras at once.

The Autodesk Gallery is a great place featuring some of the best in design and technology as well as being in a great location and having an amazing view. It is great visit for anyone and perhaps even a super geeky first date.

Cheers,
Shaan
