I am having this problem on both my office and home systems.
My office is a Dell/ intel R core TM i7 w/ 4gig ram on Windows 7, ACAD 1011
Home is AMD dual core(think 320Mh) w/3 gig Ram on Vista Pro. ACCAD 2012 Arch.
On both systems it seem that about 4hrs into my secsion when i try to print they both lock. On both syetems using a lazer printer. Would this proiblem be a swap file that is to small. once restarted can run amother 4hrs.
any help?
Thanks

What makes you think it has anything to do with the size of your swap file?

Maybe you got a corrupted driver for your laser printer.

Would not a corupt driver lock all the time and  not after I have been ploting for hours? It seems to hapen after seveal plots and gives no warning, sometime if I leave it for 10min or so it will un lock.

If you thought the problem had something to do with the size of your swap file you would have gone in and changed the settings to test that theroy.  Did you do it?

John

as far a I have been told only our IT can do that, just wanted to see if that was a good option before I drag them down. It may well be printer as today when it locked I was in the print screen (but it sent print). I know all of these upgraded softwhare is great, but ther are time I just want to run version 11 or 12, did every thing i needed. But I dont get to pick what the Co. bought as this is my 3rd week.

Well you said the problem occurs at work and on your home system.  I'm sure the IT department doesn't give two cents about your home computer so what have you done there to troubleshoot the problem?

You are wright about home.
Not ahve a problem at home just now as am print to a PDF for my
Customers ease. The more use the printers I think you are wright there is somthing about the drivers, both are Samsung diferant models. Here at work it will lock with while using Page Setup and set it ot the Samsung. Not realy that big of deal as it wates till after noon and I save (or recover) dwgs with ease, usualy have 8 or so open.
Thanks
for your help. Once i get some time I let you know what I found.

In your very first post you indicated the problem was happening at home too.

Do you have another printer at work you can send the file to as a test?

Are you using a network printer?

At home its attached to my comp.

heare at work it's thur the network.
there are 2 netwoek printers, but I dont have a problem printing just the locking after it prints. The second printer is in front of the Pres. office and not to be used. Next week I will look for new drivers. For now I shut ACAD down at lunch, since the problem seems to accumulate with time.
thanks
