AU 2011 is over

Last night December 2nd, 2011 the AU mixer was held which signals the end of another Autodesk University. AU 2011 will go down as one of the best in my 14 years of attending and presenting. My primary reason for the high personal marks was the amount of attendees, the Creative Studio, and the Innovation Forums added to the AU program. The only thing I would like to see is more time so I can attend more events and sessions as AU is so busy and at times I had 5 things to choose from that were going on at the same time.

Only 323 days to complete your speaker handouts for AU 2012. Smile

I have several posts to complete when I get home Sunday about the classes, events, people, fun things like driving a tank chair in the Techshop booth, and the shutterbug photography events held today and tomorrow. There are also some great photos and videos I need to get uploaded but I need to pack for the long drive back home as well as more photography with the shutterbug group tomorrow out in the surrounding desert and canyons.

AU 2011 Fun Fact:
The Carl Bass cardboard 3D model named affectionately as “Carl’board” was created by using Autodesk 123D Catch to take photos of Carl and create a 3D model. An OBJ was then exported from 123D Catch and imported into 123D Make to create the slice patterns for the cardboard ready for laser cutting. It was then glued together all 436 pieces which were cut from 150 sheets of cardboard. Since this is cardboard it is economical for 3D models as well as easy to save or recycle.

Check out many other great photos posted to the AU 2011 Photo Group where you too can post your AU 2011 photos. for free, http://www.flickr.com/groups/au2011/

What did you like best about Autodesk University 2011?

Cheers,
Shaan
