Sometimes videos accompany the launch of a technology preview. Sometimes they come later. I place them on YouTube to help gain exposure for the technology preview. I also make them available for download from my Buzzsaw site for users who do not have access to YouTube.

Recently I added some videos for Project Silverstar for AutoCAD Civil 3D - our free technology preview for optimization of vertical road alignments.

The videos are two tutorials created by Principal Research Engineer, Valetin Koch. Check them out:

Tutorial 1 Watch on YouTube Download from Buzzsaw
Tutorial 2 Watch on YouTube Download from Buzzsaw

The team also made some updates yesterday.

Based on user feedback to labs.acad.silverstar@autodesk.com, yesterday's update includes the following:

  • Server-side improvements with respect to the solving time
  • More accurate volumes when using offsets (using fixed sample line distances and simple assemblies on the server side)
  • Updated User Manual
  • Updated Tutorial 2 Sample Drawing that accompanies the video

As you can see, these updates do not require that you download again and re-install.

Learning visually is alive in the lab.
