Newer CAD User...

So I am trying to open DWG blocks that are 3D in my Deltacad program. Most end up with a blank space- Is the answer: I am an idiot- they are 3D there fore will not open in my 2D platform, or is there a patch or what up?? Many thanks from a newbie

You are trying to open 3D blocks in a program that is strictly 2D.

I think the answer is obvious but I don't want to come right out and use your own words against you.

What were you hoping to accomplish?  Why are you bringing the blocks into Delta Cad?

Had you considered extracting the 2D views of the blocks then bringing those into Delta Cad?

As I thought. Some do work, which what threw me. I guess what I need to look for is 2D libraries. What I do is pretty simple, such that by the time I went looking I could have just made my own. Thanks for taking the time!! Scott

Basic boring Architectural stuff... I and a partner own a custom furniture and Cabinet shop. I come from interior design- I love table drafting and rendering-but it is impractical mostly. So- furniture and kitchen cabinet profiles. Many are subcomponents- so I am building my library as I find suppliers with blocks. Once I cut my teeth a little-I will jump to 3D. We don't exactly need NASA level engineering! Just enough to get the check, and build from. Thanks for your help!!! Scott
