i am new to cad programs. i work for vw and love engines. I am looking for a program that can let me develop a new part and combine it with an existing design to see if it works right. I am also wondering if you can load existing enignes or componets? ne help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Most definitely - yes.
Inventor even allows to check the mechanism before it is modeled in 3D.
