I have created a tubular structure made up of different sizes and lengths using Inventor 2012.

I created a BOM with the columns Item, QTY, Part and Description,

The part and descripition column provides the info for the tube size and dimensions.

But the QTY columns displays the total length of all the tubes the same size. for example I have 3 tubes that are 6X4X1/4 that are 40 inches long. So instead of the QTY column displaying 3 pieces, it states 120 inches.

Is there a way to set the qty to display the individual pieces and not the total lengths without having to manually override the values. I create a lot of strutures and jigs and for the past projects have been overriding the values, there must be some way to change output result for QTY?

Thanks

Sean

I am not sure there is a way to set what you want as default setting, but I made a video showing what needs to be changed so you don't have too manually type what you are looking for.

See video:http://screencast.com/t/uW5uoZ6IknG

Hope this helps
