Hi,
I am trying to copy one object from one file to another file that already contains a diagram. The object doesn't get copied entirely, it gets out of shape. I matched the scaling factors/units in both drawings. I also tried to copy an object from the destination file to the source file and it was fine. I tried making the object as a block but I get the same distorted figure after I insert the block into the destination file. I also tried exploding and then copying but no improvement.

Make limits 12,9 and try to insert object as OLE object.
Or send here and I will try to insert in AutoCAD .

But if I do that, then would I still be able to edit the drawing?
The object I am trying to copy was created using AutoCad by someone in our company and now I want to insert it in my drawing which gives the results I mentioned.

I think there is a problem with the drawing. I will contact the person who made it.

-check the layer.

Depending on what type of object you are trying to copy, Autocad will copy as a block.  If you have the same block already in the destination file and have made changes to it, when you copy the 'new' object Autocad won't reload the new information.  Try purging your drawing then try to copy again.  Check your block editor to see if the block still exists.
