A normal path would include becoming fully certified on the products you would be teaching.  For that, start here:  Autodesk Training and Certification.

Once you've done that you simply start advertising services.

Is becoming AutoDesk Certified worth it?

That all depends on you.  Do you want to call yourself a professional one day?  You'll be misrepresenting yourself if you don't have valid credentials to prove it.

I'll take this argument one step further by asking you to think about how easy it is to find a good paying job these days.  Is it easier for someone with a grade school education than someone with a high school education?  How about someone with a college degree vs. someone with a high school degree?  What are some of the factors that are important to take with you into a job interview when there may well be more than just a few applicants?
