Topic: Block w/multiple layer inserted,only one displays Posted: 08.Jun.2012 at 16:30 |
Hey guys...
So I got a problem..
Made this block that has three seperate layers in it, showing three views; top, side, iso. Each view is named a different layer so I can turn one on or off to show what I want.
Yes, I know I should have create a dynamic block, but this one's already mapped into a macro an all that.
Problem being that when I insert one in particular that was (Im guessing) previously inserted, exploded and purged of the layers.
Now, when I try to repair the dwg to show the block again, the same layers still do not show or import with the block...only the one.
So wtf? Purge command does nothing. Refedit no good either. Same with block editor...
I just want all the layers to display again, like the others. There must be some sort of memory wipe or ...purge that actually purges everything? LOL
Open to all suggestions!

She's baaaaaack!
You never seem to have simple problems do you?
What are we purging?
I use the command line version of purge ( -purge) and kill off Regapps first then repeat and kill off "all". I follow this with an Audi to fix errors.

So I figured it out...
When I did a block insert the 'old skool' way, it asked me if I wanted to 'redefine the block'. I did an it worked...
So block insertion via marco doesnt? Thats fairly retarded...And how would one 'super' purge (for lack of better words) a dwg so you dont have to 'redefine' a block? I want to beleive that was the purpose of the purge command...to clear out old info...WTF?? LOL

Purge cleans out "unreferenced" objects/entities.
There is an actually SuperPurge routine which I have run across. Can't recall what it does that AutoCAD's own Purge command doesn't.

Guys shop too....just for different "stuff". I'll try harder in the future to remember you are NOT a woman. LoL
Trial and error works for just about so long then it gets very frustrating.
