Hello all, a newby here.  I am using inventor 10, and i have no trouble creating a drawing from a part, but it seems if I want to rename the part and drawing, whenever i update something on the part, it fails to show up on the drawing then.  is there a way to keep the files associated or reconnect them after i do this?  Thanks.

Dave

Are you using Design Assistant or Vault to rename your parts names?

No, I am using neither.  I simply rename them to what I want by doing a save as function, renaming them both exactly the same, but maybe this is not the issue here, I do not know.  Thanks.

Renaming parts doesn't work like windows does.
Renaming parts you will get only errors. It is way how to fix pbut try designer assistant if you dont have vault.
