Is it possible to create some sort of symbol legend.
(including wall sections, building sections, elevation symbols, etc)

Add representative symbols to the drawing and provide a description of what each represents.  Or create one as a separate drawing and xref into any drawing where you need a legend.  Or create it as a block and put it on a Tool Palette.  Drag and drop it into any drawing that requires a legend.  Your choice.
