I am having a issue with my AutoCAD 2013 version and I am not sure how to fix it let me explain. After I have created a text and I needed to change the wording etc I "use to" just double click on the text and it would open the editor and I could change it. Now that does not work and I also can not double click on a block and open it automatically. I think a setting is change and I can not find it. I also tried opening another drawing (thinking it was the drawing I was in) but it does the same thing so I think its a setting withing Autocad that got change. Can anyone help?

Double click to edit text is often very clunky, especially a single line. I usually highlight, right click, and choose edit. Works the first time, every time.

Check to see if PICKFIRST=1.  Your problem is consistent with it being =0.

I was having the same problem today. Also it was not showing in my layers toolbar what lay an object was on if i selected it, it was always showing the current layer.  I did check the PICKFIRST, and it was set to 0.

Thanks for the help.

Also, be sure to check that QAFLAGS is set to 0.  It can cause "weirdness" if not
