I have inserted a autocad drawing in the form of a pdf file into autocad2013 and add plumbing drawing to it.  I now need to save it all to a pdf.  I was successful in saving it to a pdf, except the orginal architectural pdf is not showing up in the drawing, all I am able to see is only the plumbing lines.  how can I get the inserted pdf and the new dwg to be one drawing to save as a pdf?

Post a screenshot of what you see in Model space.  Is everything you want in the final output displaying correctly there?

Basically the answer is you plot your file to a PDF via a Layout view.  But you've provided only a small amount of information about what you're doing.  A little more would help us help you.
