    Posted: 16.Apr.2013 at 20:21

I’m using CadWorx 2012 and I would like to know how I could edit the “long annotation” in the component list to what I want (so it will show what I want it to be in the “description” in the Bill of Material).

For example, now the default long annotation for a WN FLG  is “FLG, RFWN 600LB S/STD BORE, ASTM A-105”. This is not what I want it to be. Let’s say I want it to be “FLANGE, WELD NECK, RAISED FACE, CLASS 600, WELD END TO MATCH 6.0mm WT, GRADE 290 PIPE“. However, this description won’t apply to all WN FLG as the value for “WELD END TO MATCH” and “GRADE” changes when I apply a WN FLG to different pipes.  I have tried double clicking the WN FLG on a drawing and change the long annotation in the “component edit”, but I don’t want to do it for each component in the drawing. I would really wish that this problem could be solved so that I don’t need to manually change the “description” in the Bill of Material.

Thank You.
