I am new today to this forum; please forgive any newbie mistakes. Is there a way to convert a .pdf file to .dwg. I need entities, not just to embed a .pdf file in a .dwg. I am running AC2011LT Classic.
Thanks! |

In AutoCAD 2010 and higher you can directly import PDF as underlays. To convert the PDF file to DWG, you still have to download a third party converter. I have seen a lot of converters out there created by third parties, such as Any PDF Converter (http://anydwg.com/pdf-to-dwg.html), Aide PDF Converter (http://www.aidecad.com/pdf-to-dwg.html), they are worked but not free.

Most conversion programs will leave you disappointed.

If your pdf drawing was created from a scanner what is it really? Answer: a picture. Pixels. A raster file. How in the world could *any* conversion software turn something like that into a useful CAD drawing?! Where would it find things like layers, colors, blocks, coordinates, and so much else?
It's amazing how many people think this should be something simple. But John is correct. Brace yourself for disappointment. Dave. |
