The new release enhances the communication characteristics of BIM for construction and design process as well as provides support for live sharing and IFC grid.

The sharing functionality has been more improved. The users can share real time project information through Project folder. The project folder accumulates all models associated with the project through a cloud technology as well as a network drive. If any user connects to the shared Project folder, he will automatically receive new public notes and replies. They will also get alerts concerning new or updated models. They will be able to update the models with their own effort. This feature will facilitate all project stakeholders to obtain the same, updated information.

All data in the shared notes now contain color coding and multiple snapshots to be allocated through the Project folder.

Tekla BIMsight 1.8 includes the Support for IFC grids which allows smooth navigation in the model as well as on the site containing grids and grid labels. The users get the ability to snap to gridlines and quantity all elements of a structure. The users can also hide them from view and only produce appropriate grid elevations. Grids are also useful to create the positioning of the model uniting models more efficiently.
