I am using AutoCAD 2007 and have been experiencing problems on and off for a few weeks now, and so has a colleague of mine, using the same package. We can copy an item within Cad and then try to paste into a different drawing, and it will be fine. Then you could try to paste a different object you have copied and it might bring in the correct 'block' of objects, or it might try to paste in a random object that has previously been copied, on occasion from a previous day where the PC and obviously the CAD will have been turned off. Any ideas as to why it on occasion brings in a random block selection rather than what you actually wish to be copied? This has happened more and more frequently and to begin with, when you reselected the objects to copy it would work fine. But sometimes you can try to reselect the objects and paste them 5 or 6 times, and it scrolls to a different object when pasting, until eventually you might get the correct selection! It is highly infuriating by this point.
This is not drawing specific, we have lots of different drawings with standard details, or 1 drawing with a lot of layouts with standard details within them. So you copy and paste the selections to utilise for the specific project.

Anyone any idea what the problem is.....or more importantly how we might be able to rectify the issue?

I look forward to hopefully hearing a few solutions.

Have all service packs been installed?

Were any Hot Fixes issued for copy/paste problems for AutoCAD 2007?

When did this all start to happen?  Did you make any recent software/hardware changes?

What OS are you using?
