If Autodesk University were a child, it would now be old enough to drink — for the United States that is. Yes that's right, this year's Autodesk University is the 21st one. Though it started in the United States, Autodesk University has indeed gone global.
Over the years, I have only been to a few. Technologist for the Office of the CTO, Shaan Hurley, has been to over 25 as there were multiple AU events in some years. In fact in 1998 Shaan attended 4: San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, and Boston. Shaan has presented at international AUs like China and Japan. I believe Technical Evangelist, Lynn Allen, has attended all of the USA ones. (I think she was 8 years old for her first one.) Other than the former and current, using the Internet Way Back Machine, I was only able to find one old AU logo and just the old caliper. Principal Engineer, Doug Redmond, recently shared his first memories of AU on his It's All Just Ones and Zeroes blog. How far back do you go? What was your first AU? Let us know at thelabs@autodesk.com. History is alive in the lab. Go to the original post... |
