Many of you have inquired about the upcoming CAVE event. CAVE originally stood for Creative Artist Vegas Event, but the team is considering holding the event in various locations, so now it's just being called CAVE -- no acronym, Chris Cheung is one of our Product Line Managers for Consumer products. Chris shared some information about the upcoming CAVE. With his blessing, I am passing it on.

We've been getting a lot of questions from AU goers about CAVE. "The line up is intriguing, but is it for me?"   For many of you, the answer will be YES. CAVE obviously caters to artists, designers, and storytellers, but the heart of the conference is around design-thinking, creative problem solving, invention of original content and story-telling — all things that we all know are CRITICAL business drivers for virtually every industry. If you are part of your company's creative team or you work with artists and designers in your process, CAVE is definitely for you.

Register and get insight from some of the most imaginative minds in the world. There is no other place you will be able to see this variety and level of talent — and with the Early Bird special, for only $299! Some of the participating luminaries include:

  • Syd Mead, legendary concept designer whose illustrious career has dramatically impacted design, architecture, and feature films (Tron, Blade Runner, Aliens, and so many more).
    SYD (2)

  • Skylar Tibbits, architect/designer and lecturer at MIT. His work in the Self-Assembly Lab at MIT is mapping the future of how we make things!
    Skylar (2)

  • Lorne Lanning, creator of Oddworld, shares his experience and knowledge from the games world and how content rules above all. See how these ideas apply to your business.

  • Neil Gaiman, award winning author of Stardust, American Gods & Sandman. Learn how Gaiman applies creativity and tackles story telling.

  • Terry Whitlatch, an expert creature designer.

  • John Cleese, writer/actor/director shares a lifetime career being 'creative.' He shares his insights on creativity, imparting his formulas for success in education, business and life!

There are just a few of the exceptional minds you will see at CAVE Conference. If you are already attending AU and your business depends on creativity for developing creative content, developing innovative products, or leveraging design thinking to stay competitive, CAVE's lineup of creative-minds will deliver the ideas and inspiration to take you to the next level. What a way to kick off your Autodesk University for 2013!
