Hi everyone hope all are well,

Could anyone please guide me how to use the dashed linetypes, so that when i go to the layout tabs that they show up and also in the actual printout as well.  I am using cad 2008.  the dashed line is showing in model space, but when i click to layout it still shows as solid and in print view as well.  Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

What settings do you have for the following?

LTSCALE

MSLTSCALE

PSLTSCALE

Did you draw everything in model space at full size or did you scale objects like you would on a drafting board?

 Hi
Just go in layer(la) command make their create a layer in new one (if you want separate layer for dashed or hidden line) then select line type and close window. then use this layer in model, if this layer not shows in layout then go in model and change the line type scale in properties. this solution for use in layers for create particular layer.
If you are drafting 2D model and have to use same dashed command in a 'A' name layer then go in properties of particular line and click on linetype and select layer if layer is not shown in properties then go to properties tool bar and click on bylayer command and load a dashed command in that dialog box. i hope this solution can help you...

purti: The dashed line shows up in model space.  I guess you missed that part in kc13's first post.  I think his problem is that when viewed in a layout the dashed line appears to be continuous and not dashed.  That's why I asked about the settings of the three variables listed.
