Direct Link To This Post Topic: exporting 3d data to dwg
    Posted: 02.Apr.2016 at 15:28
Hi

thanks to your help on this forum, I have successfully imported some ascii DSM data into autocad map 3D.
However, I am once again stuck. (I'm a complete novice with Map 3D)...

I'm trying to export the 3d data from these files so that I can use the height data for modeling purposes.
I've tried exporting the files to .dwg format, but the resulting acad files are empty !

Does anyone know how to export the 3d data from Map 3D to dwg format (or any other format that can be read by Autocad or 3ds max (.3ds / .obj for example).

Also, when i import the ascii files I've noticed something strange. The 3d height data seems only to be visible when moving the object in Map 3D ... see the attached image...

help and suggestions much appreciated
