Hi, I'm new in 3Dmax , I have this problem , when I try to open in my PC a file of autocad or other file created in 3Dmax in other PC always show this message " File open failed" , but if I make a design with the software of 3Dmax of my PC  I don't have problems to open it, can somebody help me to fix this please, I will appreciate any help.

Are both PC's running the same version of 3DS Max? Max files are not backwards compatible and cannot be saved down to an earlier version. So if you created a file in Max 2010, you will not be able to open it in Max 2009, or earlier.
