Q - question

Converting pseudo-tables consisting of lines and texts to TABLE objects in AutoCAD DWGs.

A - answer Using the freeware utility COT (Convert Old Table) you can convert tables in your AutoCAD DWGs, manually sketched (even inaccurately) as parting lines, rows and columns with texts and blocks, to real TABLE-type objects. Those objects are much easier to format, edit, add or delete rows/columns, merge, or export to Excel.

Download the LISP utility COT from Download, load it into your AutoCAD with APPLOAD and run it by typing the COT command. Select the objects creating a table (including outline and parting lines) and choose whether to keep styles and headers. The conversion will handle most combinations of texts, blocks and merged table cells.
