Q - question

Editing wall cleanup "in place" causes error in AutoCAD Architecture.

A - answer When you edit a wall cleanup "in place", AutoCAD Architecture (2009/2010/2011) will not respond (will "freeze") and after a while it will report a Fatal error or Not enough memory error message, followed by error exit.

This may be caused by the locked current layer. Unlock the layer or set another layer as current.
