Q - question

Network license - Error [1200.5.-96]

A - answer License Alert: A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager.Try again.

This error message (when trying to obtain a network license from your AdLM server) means that the license server is blocking connections. Make sure the FlexLM (FlexNet) server is running and configured properly. Setup your firewall (on the server) so that FlexLM (adskflex.exe and lmgrd.exe) is allowed to communicate on ports 2080 and 27000-27010 (incoming).

This problem often occurs on new installs, on installing a new firewall or on updating to WinXP SP2 (internal firewall).
