Q - question

How to get rid of the unwanted control characters in MTEXT entities?

A - answer For a global change use the MTEXTCF freeware utility (by J.Bastecky), downloadable from Download.

You can also use the right-click function "Remove formatting" in the MText editor to remove the formatting codes individually.

For MTEXTs, DIMENSIONs, MLEADERs and TABLEs - see UnFormat - Download.
