What for is the Bank option of the SWEEP command?

A - answer The command SWEEP provides a Bank sub-option in its Twist option. However, its setting does not cause any visible change in the 3D model.

The Bank option applies to a 3D sweep path curve and banks (tilts, rotates) the profile along its curvature.

Compare sweeping the same rectangular profile along the same helix - without the Bank option (left) and with this option (right) - one of the surfaces of the resulting model is selected:
