2D and 3D area of a terrain surface.
A - answer To measure an area of a 3D terrain surface in AutoCAD Civil 3D you can use the properties of the Surface object.

In the project Prospector, right-click on the selected surface and choose "Surface Properties" from the context menu. Switch to the Extended tab and expand the tree Extended. Here you will find the values for "2D Surface Area" (projected) and "3D Surface Area" (3D).
