3DConstruct - converting a 3D mesh to a frame construct

With the free utility CADstudio 3DConstruct you can convert any surface mesh object (3DMesh, 3DFaces) or a wireframe 3D model to a solid formed by a frame construction. The original 3D face edges are "wrapped" with solids defined by given profiles. The profile for the resulting construct can be a circle (cylinder), square (box) or any other closed curve. Optional 3D blocks can be inserted into construct node points. The construct is created in the layer 3DCONSTRUCT.

Download the 3DConstruct utility from Download, load it into AutoCAD with APPLOAD and start the command 3DCONSTRUCT. The source 3D mesh objects (e.g. from the utility 3DPlot) need to be exploded first to 3D faces (3DFace) with EXPLODE. You can also construct solids if you convert them first to mesh models. Possible wireframe models must be prepared to the layer 3DCONSTRUCT.
