Q - question

AutoCAD 2011 grip-stretch and osnap PER.

A - answer Grip-editing of LINE endpoints works differently in AutoCAD 2011 ("as designed"). You cannot e.g. use the PERpendicular osnap to move (stretch) the endpoint to a perpendicular point on another LINE. This works fine in AutoCAD 2010 (and older) but also on PLINEs in AutoCAD 2011.

As a workaround, you can use the standard STRETCH command to move the endpoint. But the STRETCH command requires a rather complicated window-crossing selection of the endpoint. To make things more efficient, you can now use our small AutoLISP utility - gStretch (see Download). Load it into AutoCAD, start the GSTRETCH command and just pick the line endpoint. You can move it to any position using any osnap.
