Q - question

Compatibility of Autodesk products with Windows 10.

A - answer So far, only limited number of Autodesk CAD and BIM products is officially supported in Windows 10 and in Windows 7/8.x with .NET Framework 4.6. Versions 2017-2020 (and up) are fully compatible.

  • Inventor 2016 is supported in Win10 operating system
  • AutoCAD 2016 is supported with A2016-family Service Pack 1
  • Plant 3D 2016 is not supported in Win10
  • Revit 2016 is not supported but works in most cases (some graphical issues)
  • Vault 2016 (and earlier) is not supported in Win10
  • Fusion 360 is officially supported in Win10
  • AutoCAD 2015 family is supported in Win10 since SP2 with the Win10 compatibility hotfix (see Download)
  • AutoCAD 2014/2013 won't be officially supported in Win10 OS

The technical problem of incompatibility is usually in the .NET Framework version. Try to temporarily disable the .NET 4.6 in your Windows 10, install .NET 4.5 and then re-enable the version 4.6. The CAD application will be then able to pick the 4.5 version. You can also install the "AutoCAD 2015 .NET Installation Hotfix" (see Download).
