Q - question

Direct support for IGES, CATIA, Pro/E, Solidworks, NX etc. in AutoCAD 2012.

A - answer The IMPORT command in AutoCAD 2012 newly supports loading of 3D models in a number of exchange formats and native formats of foreign CAD applications. So you can easily work with the 3D models (parts, assemblies) from other CAD software tools.

AutoCAD 2012 supports e.g. the formats of CATIA V4 (.model, .exp), CATIA V5 (.CATPart, .CATProduct), IGES (.igs, .iges) - also export, JT (.jt), NX (.prt), Parasolid (.x_b, .x_t), Pro/E (.prt, .asm), Pro/E Granite (.g), Pro/E Neutral (.neu), Rhino (.3dm), Solidworks (.prt, .sldprt, .asm, .sldasm), STEP (.stp, .step).

Formats in 2012 (CZ version)

IGES files can processed also with the commands IGESIMPORT and IGESEXPORT
