Fusion 360 open offers only a limited number of CAD formats.

Autodesk Fusion 360 should support virtually any 3D CAD format. But the open function I found offers only the formats STEP, IGES and SAT.

You are probably opening the file with the function "New Design From File", which is primarly for loading components:

The proper workflow of opening CAD files in this cloud-based application starts with Upload of the requested file into your project in A360. This can be done in the Data Panel (if it is not displayed, open it through the squares icon, top left) with the "Upload" button. Then drag your file into the displayed dialog - you can use any supported CAD format - or click the option "Select Files".

Then you can edit your 3D model with any command in Fusion 360.

To export your design to other CAD formats, use again the A360 cloud. In the Data Panel, click on the "i" icon in the given design and then click on "Open details in A360". In the detailed view inside your web browser then perform export to the requested format.
