Q - question

A handy calculator - expression evaluator in 3ds Max.

A - answer In any input field with a spinner or any other numerical field (in a dialog or palette), you can press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+N to invoke a simple calculator - Numerical Expression Evaluator.

In this dialog you can enter any arithmetic expression - e.g. 18+4^2-3*3 and paste the result of the evaluated expression back to the original field as a new value. In the expression, you can use parentheses, the "pi" and "e" constants, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions (see the overview). You can even use vector expression but the result has to be scalar.
