Q - question

How to convert a 2D polyline to 3D or vice-versa?

A - answer The conversion tools for changing 2D polylines to 3D polylines and for changing 3D polylines to 2D polylines can be found in AutoCAD Civil 3D in the ribbon Modify > Project.

Expand the Project panel with the arrow next to its name and from the expanded menu choose the function "Convert 2D to 3D Polylines" (CONVERTPLINES) or "Convert 3D to 2D Polylines" (CONVERT3DPOLYS).

When converting entities of the type "3D Polyline" to 2D, the vertex Z-coordinate information is lost.
