How to copy selected layers from another DWG file?

If you want to transfer layer definitions (names, colors, visibility, linetypes...) from an existing DWG file to your current DWG drawing, you can use the free utility CADstudio CopyLay.

The CopyLay command prompts for the name of the source drawing file and you can select the layers to copy from the list of layers of this source file. The selected layers will be copied over to your current drawing.

Existing layers will not be overwritten (redefined). Linetypes assigned to the layers will be loaded automatically. The contents of the layers is not copied.
