Q - question

How to create a parametric dynamic 3D block in AutoCAD?

A - answer The standard dynamic block editor in AutoCAD cannot parameterize 3D operations, it is limited to associative relationships in 2D. For full 3D parameterization using sketches and design features, use Inventor, Fusion 360 or Revit. However, for simpler 3D shapes based on extrusions, lofting and associative surfaces, the standard parameterization can be used for 3D as well.

Example - the creation of a dynamic parametric 3D block is described in the video:

Any extrudable geometry consisting of parametric relationships or dynamic block editor elements can be used as a 2D base (a "sketch"). Additional 3D geometry must be made up of surface elements to maintain associativity.

A sample 3D block is downloadable as a DWG file in the Block library.

Another sample - lofted 3D blocks (a dynamic sketch and elevated static section, top patch with G2 curvature):

NOTE: such 3D dynamic blocks won't be updated while using dynamic editing in AutoCAD LT.
