How to enter a square root sign in AutoCAD text?

A - answer The "root" sign has a unicode code 221a. So when writing your text, enter the root as \U+221A - e.g.:
\U+221A(a+b)

Make sure you are using a font containing the root sign (glyph, character) - such as ISOCP, Arial, Verdana...
