Q - question

How to find elevation (altitude) of a given point on Google Maps?

A - answer There are multiple methods how to get terrain elevation (height, altitude) but one of them is the web application "Map coordinates converter" here in the Converters section.

Specify the map location by entering its address (or POI name), GPS coordinates, by clicking the "My position" button or by mouse-dragging the Marker in the map and click the "CONVERT" button. In the "RESULT" report, you will see the "Elevation" value of the given point displayed according to the Google Maps mapping data.

Please note this is an interpolated value which does not replace professional surveying methods of obtaining terrain elevations. Precision of this data depends on location but it is only about meters. The Result will give you the local density of points used to interpolate the altitude.
