Q - question

How to hatch area defined by border points, not geometry?

A - answer The standard AutoCAD command for associative hatches works with automatically detected spaces between existing border objects (line geometry).

If you want to hatch an ad-hoc area, not defined by existing geometry, you can use the command-line version of the hatch command -HATCH. Its option _draW allow to specify the hatch area simply by repeated sequential clicks of its border points (vertices) - as if you draw the border polyline. Optionally you can keep the border polyline or just the resulting hatchure.
