Q - question

Installation: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005: Command line option syntax error.

A - answer When installing a CAD application, the system component "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package" may fail with an error message "Command line option syntax error.". Most probably you are trying to install your software to an unsupported operating system (e.g. Autodesk versions older than 2014 to Windows 8).

If you are sure that you you are attempting to run the setup in a supported (compatibile) OS, retry the installation under the Administrator account.
