Q - question

Inventor is slower opening files in older formats.

A - answer Autodesk Inventor in the current version opens files from older Inventor versions a bit slower than files saved directly in the current version (in the current format.

Speed differences are more apparent with larger assemblies. Similarly as other software applications, Inventor reads also files from older versions but it takes some time to check them and convert them to the current format. That's why it is recommended to perform one-time migration of older files - via I > Manage > Migrate or in batch mode through the Job manager (Migrate files).
