The Inventor Publisher software for creating technical documentation supports not only Inventor models but also parts and assemblies in other CAD formats. So you can use Publisher to prepare service and sales documentation also to models from CATIA, ProE, and other CAD software.
Inventor Publisher supports the following CAD formats:
- Inventor (iam, ipt)
- AutoCAD 3D (dwg)
- CATIA V4 (model, session, exp, dlv3)
- CATIA V5 (CATPart, CATProduct, cgr)
- ProE (asm, prt)
- STEP (stp, ste, step)
- IGES (igs, ige, iges)
- SAT (sat)
- Solidworks (prt, asm, sldprt, sldasm) - od 2015
- NX (prt)
- Parasolid (x_b, x_t)
- SketchUp (skp) - since 2015
- OBJ (obj) - since 2015
- JT (jt)
- 123D (123d) - since 2015
- FBX (fbx) - since 2015
- DWF (dwf, dwfx) - views and animations
You can load these files in the standard way through the ribbon Home > Model > Insert, or through the option Insert in the context menu (top icon in the circular menu).
