Q - question

Inventor - rib section hatch.

A - answer When sectioning a part through a rib, hatching is applied also to the rib in the section view. How to avoid the rib hatch?

If the rib is a separate part in an assembly, you can suppress its hatching with the Visibility setting in the view (right mouse click) or via the filters.

If the rib is only a feature in a part, you can suppress the hatching only by doing some changes:

  • either use a multibody part and disable the drawing view hatching via the body filter
  • or select the hatch, turn it off (right mouse button) and use the Project Geometry to draw edges for a new, manual hatching
